Narrative - GLOW - table of comments
Camerwork:
-Pan down to close up - focuses on Tamme's face - establishes her as main character (at least for this episode).
-Static close up on tablets and wine - establishing that Tamme is in pain and using tablets and wine to numb it
-Several Mid Shots - Tamme wrestling - this is what is causing her pain
-Extreme close up - Tamme's eyes - pain and stress; she's struggling
Sound:
-Non-diegetic music - introduces the scene, is full of repetitive musical phrases which mirrors the nature of Tamme's repetitive work - doing the same wrestling show over and over
-Pleaonastic sound - tablets and bottle noises are emphasised in post-production - draws attention to them as Tamme's coping mechanism
-Sound bridge - wrestler screams over scenes with Tamme getting ready - suggests that the screams also link to Tamme's pain
-Diegetic sneeze - this cuts the music and is followed by Tamme swearing - draws emphasis to the pain and lets the audience know she's seriously injured her back with the sneeze
Mis-en-scene:
-Shower handle - using the heat to numb the pain of a bad back
-Wine bottle and tablets - constructing the narrative of Tamme self medicating to get through her work as a wrestler
-Costume - simple comfortable athletic wear contrasts the outlandish wrestling attire - links to Tamme hiding her pain - hiding the pain has become part of the "costume"
-Bin - multiple shots of several bottles and tablets being put in the bin - shows how many she's going through and the level of pain she is feeling
